Funk up your hand! Is a Challenge from Swift Expression blogging challenge series. This particular challenge is to decorate your hand in a creative way inspiration diverging from brides decorating their hands in henna for a traditional wedding. This was the last entry for me, having completed the other written challenge. I  saved it for last because I simply did not know what to do.

I was sitting here, just finished wrapping my Christmas gifts and feeling a little blue because the holidays have been cut short or otherwise affected because of my seasonal job. Tomorrow is my last day off then I will be working straight through until Christmas day. While I’m off for the actual Christmas day, I work late the day before ( Christmas Eve) and I work early the day after Christmas. So,  that has been making me a feel a little blue.

I settled up in my room to wrap all my gifts cause I would not have the time later in the week. It usually is a big deal for me… the wrapping gifts ritual. Put a Christmas movie on and spend ALL day wrapping and decorating and just enjoying the spirit. This year, I did enjoy it but there was still that pressure that it had to be done and that cloud hung over my head.

Every year I have scraps of left over wrapping paper that I never know what to do with.  That’s when it hit me. I can indulge in some Christmas Spirit by utilizing the left over scrap wrapping paper and fulfill this challenge. So I cut out the characters from the wrapping paper and put them on my hand! It was tons of fun and put a smile on my face.  I may be working through most of the Holidays but today reminded to take a  moment and enjoy the little things. So this is my image for to the challenge and also my Holiday wish to my blogging family. Merry Christmas! No matter how hectic or crazy or down life brings you, we have to take a moment to just be silly and smile. So this is from me to you hoping it brings you a little cheer. (P.s. don’t mind the time stamp, it’s  a day behind and never fixes no matter how many times i correct it and i keep forgetting to turn the time feature off)

LOL, LOVE IT! Awesome Tasha. Really good. Nice and seasonal too; love the animals, and my favourite is that bad-ass looking Pitbull or whatever it is with the pointy teeth and stud collar! Great job! Will reblog it now. 🙂

Also, I’m really sorry that this Christmas isn’t turning out so great due to having to work so much and all the pressure that brings with it. 😦 I’m really glad that this little project managed to cheer you up a bit and bring a smile to your face. Sometimes it’s fun to do just have fun again like a kid with stickers and scissors and glue and all that stuff. It brings out that inner child which is always there inside us.

Thank you for this lovely entry to the Challenge and I’m absolutely certain it will bring a smile to everyone’s face because it is full of Christmas cheer, general funniness, and most important, that special Tasha magic. 😉

Just checked the Challenge and you are the first one to finish all the questions! I knew you could do it. 🙂 I just need you to enable me to reblog (Press This) this last entry so I can go ahead and write a Post declaring you as the Winner for Blog Challenge First Place. Then if you like you can take the Award to display on your blog, but that’s up to you. 🙂 Either way, as soon as I have reblogged this, you will be the First Place Winner!

  4. Tilda my dear! Thank you! I’m very happy you enjoyed this post, i love your challenges and enjoyed doing them so much. I didn’t purposely rush to do this or anything, its just i wanted to complete them and since I’m working straight through the next two weeks I knew i wouldn’t have the time and then I would be at work with a sad face 😦 . I feel so relieved to have got them all done they were so emotional and fun to do too!

And if you see alot of clicks on your stats , i keep going back to your pages to read others and comment on their blogs. Trying to keep as up to date with everyone as i can before i got MIA from work. Questions, are my pingbacks working? Cause i do a pingback for every challenge and i see other’s pingback links at the end of yours post but i don’t see mine. I can click the links on my blog pages so i know the link is active. Just want to make sure credit goes back to you and your awesome blog challenges!

I enabled the the press button but it doesnt show up with the little icon so you have to click the “share” drop box and then the wordpress reblog button is listed there. So odd i didn’t even know sharing was turned off. I always just reblog from my reader though or the task bar at the top of the page.

Thanks again! I’m loving the little community this challenge is forming and all the sharing everyone is doing. I love reading what everyone has to say.

Hi Tasha, I only saw your message just now. My little orange thing in the corner didn’t light up, and I just came by to check in case by chance I missed it somehow. I figured you must be away from your PC.

A LOT of pingbacks are MIA at the moment and I have complained to WP about it. Some stuff ends up in my Spam folder, but some just vanishes into thin air. But I do go around to people’s blogs when there’s no pingback and check that the link is there and working, so it’s all good. I know WP is doing a lot of behind the scenes changes and redesigning things at the moment, so that’s probably why some things are not working smoothly.

But I know you’re giving me my credit and I really appreciate. In return, I like to promote my contestants highly, so I will be doing the reblog now and singing your praises! 🙂

      • You’re so sweet! And my little orange things hasn’t been working properly either. I just checked my notifications and see a bunch of “likes” but it wasn’t lit up. Ah technology, drives us crazy but we love it.

Oh, I made a typo up there … I meant that I “can’t” find the reblog (Press This) option. I’m doing re-blogs now for all visual entries as it saves me a bunch of time. Thanks. 🙂

Very clever! When I wrap presents my hands end up looking something like that…but a whole lot messier and not nearly so cheery or artistic. Picture pieces of tape tangled all around my hand with bits of paper muddled in with that tape! Nice job! Congratulations.

    • Lol! I can picture it because I’ve been there too. I make a big all mess of the room too. When ever my fiancee walks into the room and sees the wrapper paper out he turns right back around and leaves the room lol. Thank you so much for checking out my post and taking the time to comment.. i appreciate it very much!

    • Rose that is a fantastic idea! Thank you. I was just talking to the fiance how much i love this picture and we were staring at it. Putting it up on a wall to gaze at is a brilliant idea. I took about 40 pictures to get this ONE..lol.
