- Unquestioning, or
- Dare I

Dare I
If it was a different time
ink would drip
from quill
onto parchment .
I would have had to pinch coins
ration food
save for weeks
for the sacred paper
I would have to sit there
careful
planning
daring.
Only had once chance
to capture
expressions.
No back space.
Just quill, ink parchment.
One chance.
Making the written words
so much more
daring.
Instead,
the time is now
white screen
black cursor
blinking
blinking
blinking
Dare I press the keys
make letters unfold across the screen?
Dare I
change the times
leave the feathers
in the wind.
Dare I type these words
instead of scrawl them across paper
scratching in haste
the letters becoming slated and sloppy
in passion.
Dare I?
I do.
Deactivate the backspace
un-spell the speck check
Type in a fury
Dare to bring back passion
into writing
when writing is no more.
